Description / Access Information
Middle Fork-South Fork Trail #199: In 2016 the KRD rerouted a section of the trail found on the lower portion of the route; between the trail's intersections with the Lick Gulch/Poison Flat Trail #218, and the Warfield-South Fork Warm Springs Trail #151. The reroute eliminates an unsustainable portion of the trail where the alignment was in the fall-line, running water, and becoming increasingly rutted. Braided trail conditions were resulting from people avoiding the rutted trail. The reroute maintains the challenging, direct character of the original alignment where it passes over durable rocky surfaces, and it takes a more contouring approach where the soils will only support moderate trail-grades.
