Oregon Gulch: This trail has two distinct personalities: "upper Oregon" it only recommended as a descent from the East Fork Baker Creek and the lower section of Oregon is often done as a loop, connecting with Fox and/or Chocolate Gulch.
If riding "upper Oregon" as a descent, look for the "OREGON GULCH TR. NO 183" sign 6.5 miles up the East Fork Baker Creek Rd. on the left just beyond a large, flat saddle.
Oregon Gulch links into the Chocolate Gulch, Fox Creek, & Adams Gulch trail networks. However, motorized use is only allowed on the Oregon Gulch Trail. For mountain bikers looking to ride this as a loop with Chocolate Gulch and/or Fox Creek, the recommended direction is counter-clockwise climbing out of Oregon Gulch into Chocolate/Fox.*For more detailed descriptions, topo maps, and information on the history, geology, and wildflowers of the Wood River Valley pick up a copy of Exploring Sun Valley online or find it at one of several local shops.
