Sun Valley Trail: This paved multi-use pathway ties into the Wood River Trail and is part of the "crown jewel" of our pathway system here in the Wood River Valley. This loop leaves the Wood River Trail near the Elkhorn stoplight on Hwy 75 and meanders up and through the community of Elkhorn before dropping down alongside the ski slopes of Dollar Mountain. From there, the route turns west and Dollar Rd. and Sun Valley Rd. as it enters Ketchum. Once in Ketchum, follow the 'bike lane' signs through town (right on Spruce, left on 4th St.) to be taken through town and reconnect with the Wood River Trail.
Safe Routes to SchoolThrough a partnership with the BCRD, the Blaine County School District, Blaine County, and the municipalities in Blaine County, Mountain Rides has developed a Safe Routes to School program in Blaine County to promote walking and biking to school. This is a healthy, sustainabale transportation choice for the community and involves the identification and development of key transportation routes from the Wood River Trail, local neighborhoods, and other pathways to key school locations throughout the Wood River Valley.
