Golden Hour: We're thrilled to announce that the BLM and its partners have successfully completed the construction of yet another new trail in Hailey Fall '24!
BLM has continued to put time and energy into enhancing outdoor recreation experiences for our community. Golden Hour is a four-mile trail departing and reconnecting with the Silver Lining trail. Enjoy new views of Hailey and the Wood River Valley as you traverse the hillside above Quigley Canyon. This trail can be enjoying at any time of the day, but it is highly recommended to get out during the golden hour to really appreciate the full experience.
There are two access points to Golden Hour, both from the Silver Lining trail. One access point is at the saddle/high point of Silver Lining. Golden Hour trail departs east at the junction and contours and climbs along the north facing slope. Stay left when you see a user made trail that splits to the right and follows the ridge to Patterson Peak. The trial to Patterson Peak is a foot and horse trail only, mountain bikes are not allowed.
The second access point for Golden Hour is approximately half-way up the Quigley side of Silver Lining. Golden Hour can be used in either direction, however counter-clockwise is recommended, especially for mountain biking.
If traveling counter-clockwise from the high Silver Lining junction, plan on gradual climb for just under 2 miles until you reach the high point, from here the decent starts, make one switch back so you are heading West and enjoy the next two miles of downhill.
For trailhead information, look at the Silver Lining trail description. You can start your adventure at either the Quigley Canyon or Woodside side of Silver Lining depending on how long you want to make your adventure.
