GENERAL COMMENTS: April 26, 2024
The valley is beginning to see more areas dry out. As you make plans to head out on the trails, keep in mind elevation, aspect, and weather. Many lower and south facing trails are dry or close to being dry, especially mid and south valley, while snow is still holding on at higher elevations, north/northeast aspects, and in the trees. If these storms produce a decent amount of rain, give the trails a little time to dry out before getting on them.
Sun Valley's White Cloud trails are mostly dry, but some patches of snow and a couple muddy sections on the north facing or shaded aspects are still being reported.
Greenhorn has some trails drying out. The new Greenhorn reroute, Cow horn, and the lower section of Cow Creek Connector are all dry. Wood River Trail Coalition reports that the WRTC's Greenhorn Improvements Project in collaboration with the USFS-KRD is going great! They finished work on the new reroute, and it is open and ready for use. Be sure to check their home page for full details.
BLM's Croy Trails are almost entirely dry! You will find three big sections of snow on the north aspect of Two Dog between the upper junction with Centerline and to Bullion rd. This section will hold snow for a little longer than the other trails and would require a bit of trek if you wanted to loop Two Dog.
The full Quigley Loop, Silver Lining trail, BCRD's Quigley Trails Park, and Belle & Vue trails on both sides of Slaughterhouse are completely dry & open!

Many of our trails are not dry or ready for use yet. When you encounter extended sections of snow or mud, please use your best judgement and turn back if you cannot pass over the section without causing damage to the trail. Otherwise you will find mostly dry conditions.

Many of the lower Greenhorn trails and dry. You will find some snow and muddy conditions where the trails move into trees and on some north facing aspects, especially as you go higher.

All of BCRD's Quigley Trails Park are open! Last fall the BRCD completed construction on the extension of the Quigley loop. The loop extends southeast past Quigley pond. The new 3.5 mile long BLM Silver Lining Trail is open.

The 3.5 mile Hailey route can be used in either direction and makes a connection between the Toe of the Hill Trail near Keefer Park to the BCRD trails in Quigley Canyon. A loop of about 5.5 miles can be formed by using Toe, a portion of the Quigley Canyon loop, and the new Silver Lining Trail.

REMARKS:
The BLM has completed building a new 1.8-mile Belle trail and a new 0.4-mile Vue trail on the north side of Slaughterhouse Canyon in Bellevue in Fall 2023. These trails are dry and ready for use!
