STANDALONE TRAIL MAP
GENERAL COMMENTS: July 2, 2025

Trails have been in great shape, though July is heating up meaning it might be a good call to get an earlier start on the trails to avoid the heat of the day. Or seek out cooler temps by getting up high in the mountains.

City of Hailey is starting construction on the Fox Acres pathway this coming Monday. The path will be open during non-working hours, but plan on it being rough and not bike, scooter, skateboard, or any type of wheel friendly! The City of Hailey reports that construction will start on Monday and last around 3 weeks. There will be a window of full closure, but those dates have not been set. For now, it might be best to plan on using an alternate route to avoid the construction on the path.

Bald Mountain lift operations have begun along with lift assist biking. Wildlife closures have been lifted on Cold Springs and Warm Springs trails. Check the Sun Valley app or Sun Valley Company's website for more lift and trail information.

Galena Lodge and surrounding trails are open for the summer season! Wildlife closures on sections of the Grinder, Spring Creek, Outhouse Loop, and Crosscut along with all of Bigwood Loop have been lifted.

Ketchum Ranger District/Wood River Trails Coalition report most of the front country trails are open and cut out.

Bellevue, Hailey, mid-valley, and Ketchum all have plenty of open trails to choose from now.

Any trail labeled as partially open (yellow), is available for use if and when conditions allow. Though these trails may not have been cleared of deadfall yet and might still have patches of snow or mud. If a trail has extended wet and muddy sections, please turn back so you do not cause damage to the trail. If you are leaving footprints or tire ruts- that's your sign to turn back.

July 2nd the Forest Service reported sheep moving throughout the valley. Click "more details" below for a more detailed sheep report.

Wildlife is present. For information on recommended best practices when wildlife or sheep are encountered, visit this site's Trail Alerts Section.

As you head out for your trail adventures, feel free to report anything you see that you think should be shared. Email me, the BCRD Trails Coordinator, Ashley Knox at aknox@brcd.org.

Enjoy the trails!
Sheep are in the valley. Check the Trailink map for current reported sheep locations. Expect sheep on the Wood River Trail and on the sheep driveway in the next week as they are moving north to their allotments. Keep in mind land managers do their best to provide accurate sheep locations, however, consider these locations and dates as a suggestion of where the sheep will be Always stay aware of your surroundings.

BLM Reports:
Sheep moved through the Rotarun and Bullion allotments last week. These allotments include the Bullion Connector, Bull Dog and part of Hidden Valley trails. They now have moved further up Bullion and away from our designated trails.

Let's not forget our manners and trail etiquette no matter where we are or how we recreate. A quick reminder- bikers yield to hikers, and hikers and bikers yield to horses, then downhill yields to uphill. If in doubt, just yield to each other and meet someone new while you talk about how lucky we are to be in such an amazing place. Bottom line is to be kind to each other and enjoy being out on the trails.

Continue to look to this site for up-to-date trail info. Please be aware of changing conditions and considerate of trail conditions when you head out for your adventures.
